Returns/Exchanges
Genes is committed to customer satisfaction and to that end we extend our happiness guarantee on products purchased at our shops. What does that mean? Simple, if for any reason you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase you may return it to us within 30 days of the purchase date for a refund, exchange or credit. Items must be received to us by the 30 day mark and must be in their original packaging with tags and in their original condition. Please note that sale items are not returnable or exchangeable.
We regret that some items, including, but not limited to special order furniture can not be returned. Items that are considered special order will clearly be noted on their product page along with their return status. Additionally, undergarments, bathing suits, utensils and other products where hygiene concerns apply may not be returned. By placing your order you acknowledge that you understand and accept this policy.
Some items may also be subject to re-stocking fees. These fees generally apply to strollers or other gear items and are clearly noted on their product pages. Restocking fees are typically 20% of the items value, but are subject to our discretion. We calcuate the amount of the restocking fee, if any, based on the condition of the item upon it's return. This is necessary in order to ensure that all products in our inventory meet or exceed our high standards. In order to receive the highest possible refund on your return, we strongly encourage you to use your products only indoors and to keep all packaging and packing materials in their original condition until such time as you've determined your satisfacion with the product. Damaged or missing packaging or signs of use will result in higher re-stocking fees or denial of the return.
If you need to make a return on a product, please use our Returns Form to request a RETURN AUTHORIZATION number. We regret that we can not accept returns on items without an RA number. Please provide us with your order number and the items for which you are requesting a return.
Upon receipt and approval of your request, we will issue you an RA# to be included with your return. The cost of the return shipment is the responsibility of the customer. We suggest that you send your shipment via UPS, FedEx or another established common carrier and that you insure your shipment for its full retail value. Items lost or damaged in shipment are the responsibility of the customer.
Please note that your refund (if applicable) will be credited back to the original method of payment. If you paid with a gift certificate, a new gift certificate will be issued for the amount of the credit and e-mailed to you. If you are returning an item you received as a gift, we will issue you an exchange or gift certificate credit. No cash refunds will be issued for gifts. Please note that your credit amount will be for the price of your product(s) less any applicable shipping charges. What does this mean? If your order total qualified you for free shipping, but your return sets you below our free ship offer, (generally, a total purchase value of $99) than you will be credited for the item amount less the initial ship charges for that item.
Please allow approximately two weeks for the processing of your return, though we make every effort to complete this sooner. Your issuing bank may take an additional billing cycle to apply the credit to your card.
